It all started with Grandma.
When we were just youngsters, Grandma and the women in the family used to produce their jams and fruit butters to sell at local church fairs and to share with family and friends at holidays and on special occasions.
Years later, in the Summer of 2005 and as two school teachers, we decided to revive this tradition by making and selling grandma's goodies at a local flea market when school was out of session. In the fall of that year, we moved our products into our first store and created our website. At the end of that year, we organized MoonShadows Farm into a limited liability company (LLC) and decided to add a line of salsas and bbq sauces to our product offerings.
As our products quickly grew in popularity, it became imminently clear we needed more help. In the Spring of 2006, we partnered with a local Mennonite family to assist us in our efforts. Time-honored recipes and plenty of wholesome ingredients continued to produce those “old fashioned” tastes like grandma used to make, and allowed us to bring our outstanding tasty treats to many others.
In the early Spring of 2008, we introduced a line of homemade savory dip mixes and have plans to bring our customers even more country favorites in the near future.
With ever-growing interest in our products, in July of 2008 we decided to rely on our Mennonite friends and other carefully selected food crafters to pack all of our country favorites while we now focus our full attention on product development, marketing and sales fulfillment. With over 30 shows a year, a handful of retail outlets and increasing web sales, things can get real busy at times, but the future looks bright for MoonShadows Farm Country Favorites.
As a small business entity, a lot of hard work goes into producing these high quality products and making them available to our faithful customers.
